Jonathan Groff Calls Out Madonna For Texting During His Performance

Madonna wasn't kidding in her latest single. Apparently the queen of pop rules with an entitled fist, but Jonathan Groff is putting a stop to that, Vulture reports. Hamilton creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda banned Madonna from future performances during the show's run at the Public, because she spent the majority of the time on her phone. Her PR reps denied Madonna's poor viewer etiquette, but Groff has stepped in to verify the truth. When asked by dot429 if he was disappointed that Madonna got banned, he used some colorful language accompanied by a couldn't care less attitude. "No. Because that bitch was on her phone," he said. "You couldn't miss it from the stage. It was a black void of the audience in front of us and her face there perfectly lit by the light of her iPhone through three-quarters of the show." Michelle Obama, on the other hand, was a very pleasant guest. "[The First Lady] came backstage and hugged every crew member — the wig girl, all the costume people, every cast member. She said to us‚ and this is a direct quote — 'This is the greatest piece of art I've ever seen.'" One might say if you have the FLOTUS stamp approval, who else's do you need? However, this situation isn't about approval or praise, but rather, respect. Madonna is no stranger to the spotlight. She, more than anyone should understand audience etiquette.
