While out on a tattoo parlor run with BFF Melissa Forde, Rihanna brought back the ‘90s hard. And in an interesting turn of events, the glittery-nipple-pasties-loving fashion star opted for the most covered-up of Clinton-era looks: the vintage-chic, floral maxi-dress. (Although her loose-fit, ankle-grazing frock isn’t from the Beacon's Closet bin, mind you; it’s by Marni.) To bring the retro look into the 2010s, though, RiRi added her own millennial accessories to the mix.
First, you might recognize that Swarovski crystal choker from the singer’s full-on Versace outfit (complete with green, furry monster coat and thigh-high boots) from her performance at the iHeart Radio Music Awards. (Extra points for recycling stage looks.) Rihanna layered the logo-tastic necklace with a couple of go-to favorites: a personalized “Fenty” nameplate necklace and a “Ride or Die” pendant by Mala by Patty Rodriguez. Her blinged-out ear cuffs by Lynn Ban rounded out the badass accessory lineup, which Rihanna countered with a pair of grandpa-approved white loafers — Chanel, naturally. Still, she finished off her outfit with the most iconic ‘90s bag ever: a mini backpack slung over one shoulder.
