A little black dress is eternally stylish. But in the summertime, it absorbs every wavelength of the sun's rays, causing serious overheating on even the simplest stroll through Manhattan. And a train car with broken AC? Even worse. Instead, take a move from Gigi Hadid’s playbook and swap your black dress out for something cooler: a white dress.

Once again, Hadid proves that a summer LWD goes a long way. The model was seen in Soho this week wearing a midi bodycon dress perfectly paired with minimal (but effective) accessories, the monochromatic white making the figure-hugging dress more day-appropriate. (But then again, we don’t doubt that Hadid could totally dress this up for night with a pair of heels and a bold lip.) The model added a thin belt to break up the silhouette and give it a bit of a shirt-skirt illusion.

With the focus on the dress, neutral accessories make a statement without stealing the show. For footwear, Hadid chose a pair of snakeskin print T-strap sandals — because who needs heels when you have supermodel height? She added a subtle, glam touch with some fierce cat-eye sunglasses.
