Another weekend, another must-attend Chicago music festival. If the Windy City's well-dressed festival-goers felt any sign of post-Pitchfork fatigue, they certainly didn't show it. If anything, they gave fans of festival style even more to sink their teeth into, by turning the sun-soaked field into a casual catwalk.
What's to thank for this burst of sartorial energy? Maybe it was the weather, or maybe it was the music. After all, when FKA twigs, Marina and The Diamonds, and Florence Welch are on stage, one doesn't want to be caught out in sub-par gear.
That wasn't an issue here. A trend always emerges at these shows, and Lollapalooza was no different. This time around it was all about the round-framed sunnies, though how they were styled varied from girl to girl. We saw boho braids, schoolgirl-chic minis, daring sheer pieces, gelato-hued hair, and Docs galore. Edgy, pretty, fiesty, and fierce all got their due.
