It would be wrong to say we didn't feel a stab of outfit envy when we laid eyes on Katniss Everdeen's training ensemble in the first Hunger Games film. From what we could see, it had everything one looks for in workout gear — an awesome-but-subtle color scheme and fabric that looks like it can facilitate warmups and cool-downs. Now, looking at NikeLab Women's fall and holiday line, we can't help but wonder if designer Johanna F. Schneider was just as envious as we were.
Similar to previously announced fall pieces, this new collection really focuses on layering — in a chic, yet functional way. Schneider explains: “We wanted to create a collection that is sophisticated but allows women to be ready for anything." Judging by the sleek, futuristic shapes of these pieces, "ready for anything" could even mean "ready to volunteer as tribute in replace of your sister in a televised fight to the death." So, really anything.
Click through to see the collection, available online and in select stores today — both where you live, and, we're assuming, in Panem.
