Reese Witherspoon went all the way back to middle school for this week's throwback back Thursday photo. The actress posted a black and white photo of her cheerleading days to Instagram on August 13. She captioned the photo, "#TBT to my days as a proud General #cheernation #firstsquad #lilgeneral."
Witherspoon has clearly mastered the art of the hashtag. She was cheering for Nashville's Harding Academy. At the time she wore that uniform, she was just a few years away from her breakout role in 1991's Man in the Moon. The resemblance to her fifteen-year-old daughter, Ava Phillippe, in the photo is striking.
Witherspoon's next project is a TV show titled Big Little Lies, which is scheduled to air sometime in 2016. She had a more literary project this summer, recording the audiobook version of Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee.
