If you think watching Mean Girls makes you nostalgic for Lindsay Lohan's heyday, wait until you see the Instagram photo she posted of herself re-creating a pose from The Parent Trap. What's meant to be a cute throwback to her 12-year-old self, and her 1998 breakout role, is actually kind of bumming us out, especially when we consider all that she's been through since.
The sweetly posed snap makes us think of all the promise Lohan had when she started out her career at a young age. It reminds us of her critically acclaimed (and adorable) performance in The Parent Trap, and how she held her own next to legendary film star Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday, at the mere age of 17 in 2003. The following year brought us the cult-classic teen film Mean Girls, penned by Tina Fey. Lohan followed that up with a starring role next to Meryl Streep in A Prairie Home Companion. That seems to be when her career peaked — she was just 20 years old.
Reminiscing over our fond memories of her early on-screen performances is kind of breaking our hearts.
Lohan posted the photo with a caption that credits a spa week in Switzerland for her younger-looking skin.
