At times, embracing your body and being confident in your own skin is easier said than done, even for the most blessed of us. But that has never held back Los Angeles-based model Kanya Sesser — who has embarked on a successful career in front of the camera despite being born without legs — from showing us how it's done.
"I love showing people what beauty can look like," the stunning 23-year-old told The Daily Mail. "I don't need legs to feel sexy."
Sesser began her modeling career at age 15, working for sportswear brands like Billabong, Nike, and Rip Curl. She has since been scouted by lingerie companies, and according to The Huffington Post U.K., now earns more than $1,000 a day.
Born in Thailand, Sesser was abandoned as a baby on the steps of a Buddhist temple; she was later taken to live in Portland, Oregon, at the age of five by adoptive parents. Now, the successful beauty loves extreme sports, opts to get around using a skateboard instead of a wheelchair, and hopes to use her burgeoning career to inspire confidence in those with disabilities.
"I'm different, and that is sexy," Sesser proudly told The Daily Mail, praising images of herself posing seductively in lace bras and thong underwear as "show[ing] my strength." For Sesser, the camera is empowering. "I like expressing myself in a different way than people usually see," she explains. "This is just who I am."
