3.1 Phillip Lim Presents A New Sexy Classic For The Modern Woman

The 3.1 Phillip Lim fall '12 collection appealed to us the same way as a good cup of coffee, meaning it was strong and smooth. While many of the pieces lent themselves to a more streamlined shape, the collection played up the female form in belted jackets and shapely silhouette paneling — a clever detailing approach that might appeal to any woman looking to accentuate that perfect hourglass that nature did or didn't provide. There was some inclusion of dark teals and, of course, bright tangerine in the fall pieces, but we most loved the prominence of the neutral palette, made fresh with its emphasis on both the classic and modern woman's wardrobe.
Among the exceptional offerings were an ultra-sleek suit that burned white-hot (a must-have for autumn, we hope predict) and a clean-cut jumpsuit kept classy and sexy with a sheer décolletage. What the show may have lacked in a huge color range, it made up for in every steely shade of gray that appeared in modern billowy outerwear and geometric-patterned wraps. Check out a few highlights of the Phillip Lim runway—strong and smooth indeed.
