Chelsea Clinton Can See Running For Public Office In Her Future

Perhaps the most well-known First Daughter of our generation, Chelsea Clinton has always been something of an enigma. As a 13-year-old in the White House, she went through that painfully awkward teenage phase we were all going through, only she did it on the world stage. But somewhere between the days of braces and uncontrollable frizz (thanks a lot, D.C. humidity) and her 2010 wedding, she blossomed into a striking, polished, and seriously on-the-ball woman, and she gave Vogue the lowdown on how her life has come together, in the September issue.
In a story that comprises two seasons' worth of reporting and some glamorous portraits by Mario Testino, Chelsea reveals a love for caffeine, an endearing forgetfulness, a friendship with Burberry designer Christopher Bailey, and an enthusiasm for skinny jeans and platform stilettos — seriously, who knew? But the biggest stop-in-your-tracks moment comes when reporter Jonathan Van Meter asks if she could imagine running for public office. The answer? "If there were to be a point where it was something I felt called to do and I didn’t think there was someone who was sufficiently committed to building a healthier, more just, more equitable, more productive world? Then that would be a question I’d have to ask and answer.” So, the real answer is: Just wait and see. (Vogue)
