Intricate evening updos are all well and good, but sometimes they can seem a little, well, overdone. And like a lot of work. It's in these moments, while we're wrestling with curling irons, bobby pins, and teasing combs, that we find ourselves wondering: why can't we just wear a ponytail to the party?
Unfortunately, a simple ponytail can end up looking like a total afterthought, which is so not the look we're going for when we're hitting a fabulous holiday soiree. While the dressed-up pony always seems to work on celebs, on us mere mortals it can look kind of Tuesday-evening-yoga-class (and not in that hot yoga instructor way, either).
So, in search of a perfectly festive-yet-easy look for the holidays, we brought our pony conundrum to Bethany Brill, a hair and makeup artist based in New York City. True to form, Bethany read our minds with the perfect rockabilly-meets-Parisian hairstyle (a combo we didn't even know we wanted until she put the idea in our heads) that's thankfully nothing like the 'tail we sport on the treadmill.
