Rag & Bone’s Men’s Show Gave Us New Classics

Well, they've done it again. Marcus Wainwright and David Neville's fall '13 menswear collection for rag & bone somehow managed to have a boatload of closet essentials we thought we didn't need. Even if you have the basics on lock — bomber jackets, peacoats, and crew-neck sweaters, after checking out the boys' latest offerings, we think you'll need to rethink your staple strategy.
So, we've snagged a couple of our favorite looks from the show, and yes, we see you, underlying trend.
We were smitten with the understated cool of the sharply cut army-green suit, but juxtapose that with an electric shock of Prussian blue and, baby, it's love. Also spotted were hints of tangerine peeking out from the lining of a jacket or the sleeves of a black peacoat. The not-so-subtle and yet not at all overwhelming flashes of bright aren't all that this collection has to offer. A glimpse of houndstooth from under a jet-black jacket and a textured-leather panel on an otherwise standard turtleneck add a hint of the unexpected. We bet your boring winter coat can't do that. Dudes, when it comes to your necessities, start from scratch, trust us.
