While we obviously have a passion for fashion, it's certainly not the only thing that makes us tick. We've got a soft spot for local ladies who are doing big things, and we're all about supporting the up-and-comers (after all, we know where we came from!). So, when we first got word of theSkimm, a brand-new daily newsletter that brings you the news in an easy-to-digest form (with a signature smirk, natch), we knew we had to get to know the genius gal pals behind the brand. Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin are two former corporate workhorses (hailing from NBC News, to be exact), who are not only whip-smart, but they've got serious style to boot.

We met with the co-founders-slash-BFFs-slash-roommates at their West Village pad to get the skim skinny on what it's like to start your own company (great minds think alike!) and score a tour of their favorite neighborhood spots.
