A Model-Friendly Haircut That You Can Try At Home!

It seems like only yesterday when girls everywhere (and fabulous boys) were clamoring for blowouts and big super-model salon curls. But as the runways were showing grittier and gnarlier clothes, hair trends started to come undone. In the final death knell of manicured hair, we're proclaiming the DIY bob as the It-Cut of the moment. Its one-length, center-parted, almost bed-headed glory is the ultimate in wash-and-go ease, and all grossness aside, we actually think that it looks better with a few days' worth of "lived-in-ness." Julia Frakes and Chloë Sevigny recently refreshed their locks, and models Heather Marks and Flo Generra (whose hair got chopped for Dior Couture) have brought the look to the runway. Part Kurt Cobain, part Leigh Lezark, this haircut is 100% cool and seemingly simple, which is why we're so tempted to grab a pair of shears and hack away at our own hair. So, we're asking you—would you try this DIY look yourselves?

At-Home Snip Tips from Woodley & Bunny's Erin Anderson whose celebrity clients include Chloë Sevigny and Milla Jovovitch.
1. Semi-wavy and thicker, straight hair works best for DIY cutting.
2. Use a feather razor WITH the guard, so no accidents!
3. Start with dry or damp hair, as you'll be more accurate.
4. Cut in small sections and don't pull hair too tight when snipping.
5. Apply a mousse like Sachajuan medium hold on dry hair; add a few sprays of Sachajuan Ocean mist; diffuse the roots or air dry to get that perfect "Cobain-esque" texture.
