Alexander Wang's clothing has been the paragon of downtown urban dressing, but with his resort 2011 collection, he's suddenly channeling his suburban side. Deep rust, slate, and khaki separates are true-to-form Alex, but there are plenty of pieces that take suburban staples and turn them on their heads: Running shorts made of leather, trenches with a distinct bathrobe vibe, black and white ribbed athletic socks worn with Birkenstock-like shoes, and slacks and sweats that Soccer Mom-types might wear (but they might not wear them styled with leather and studs a la Alex)...
