A small exhibition at the much overlooked National Museum of the American Indian , all the way downtown, served as the inspiration for ADAM's fall '11 collection. Designer Adam Lippes takes his fans from of Alaska to Argentina, with a runway show inspired by the natives in both continents. The result is a study in indigenous culture, sometimes obvious (a raccoon coat or a patterned wool sweater) and sometimes downplayed (a lacey black dress and a cut-out cashmere sweater) that would work well on Madison Avenue.
