Anna Dello Russo’s OTT H&M Paris Fashion Week Extravaganza

Trust Anna Dello Russo to make an entrance at Paris Fashion Week. The creatrice of the strangely addictive "Fashion Shower," a music (?) video to celebrate her upcoming AdR collection with H&M (on sale October 4), reminds us — vis-à-vis gold, latex, sparkling turquoise, clones, a can't-get-it-out-of-your-head, repeating, electro hook, and some numbered, accented lessons — that "fashion is uncomfortable — if you feel comfortable, you never get the look."
And, it seems the newly minted chanteuse took her own advice to heart last night at the launch party for her amazingly in-your-face line with the Swedish mega-brand at iconic Paris cabaret, Paradis Latin. Case in point? The style star descended from the ceiling in a heart-shaped contraption covered in faux, oversized rose petals, and she was decked out in a tight-fitting, bejeweled, turquoise frock from the range (we surmise she'll never wear it again).
Just the beginning of an AdR-approved night, of course. Stepping into the nightclub was like falling down the eccentric Italian's personal rabbit hole — velvet chairs, golden Anna balloons, chocolates covered with her face, a gigantic golden boot made of sugar, even an army of "mini AdRs," just, as Dello Russo succinctly put it, "for the sake of something unexpected. Excess for me means success."
No argument from the Parisian-chic set, clearly: Fans of the stylishly sudsy editor downing champagne and vogueing on stage included supers like Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Jessica Stam, Anja Rubik, and Isabeli Fontana, plus Brian Atwood, Rachel Zoe, Olivier Theyskens, le tout blogosphere (Bryanboy, Rumi, Leandra, Natalie Joos...), and a performance by the other ubiquitous Fashion Week crooner, one Miss Azealia Banks.
“We wanted to give the guests an unforgettable experience: an ever-evolving night that started on
the red carpet and ended on the dance floor. We created an amusing cabaret show — while it was pure
Parisian entertainment, it also functioned as a metaphor for the carousel of fashion," according to Dello Russo. Translation: Everyone left (fashionably) wet. Ciao.
