Peep Textiles By Warhol (& Other Artists) In This Sweet New Book

April showers bring May flowers, and June sun brings summer reading lists. But save the Pynchon brick novel for the August road trip (once your mind is nice and ready for it) and try something with lots of pictures (over 200, to be exact) and some juicy captions. For a good read — and something pretty for your coffee table — check out Antique Collector's Club's newest tome Artists' Textiles 1940-1976, a compilation of paintings on polyester (and other fabrics, obvs) by famous artists of the 20th century.
The book showcases works by creatives such as Roger Fry, Georges Braque, and Andy Warhol (to name a few), but Picasso fans may be disappointed. The book reports the artist wasn't exactly down with fabric design, and even stated, "Picassos may be leaned against, not sat on." Pablo's protest aside, we're enchanted by the idea of fabrics from these legends (plus all the crafty DIYs we'd be psyched to try — if we could get our hands on them). (T Magazine)
