A new hybrid of New Yorker has officially arisen, and it's called the It Girl. Yes, there have always been beautiful socialites, waxing poetic about shopping trips and fab vacations, but these days it takes more to be noticed and respected. It takes talent. And that's exactly why we've turned our eyes to model/DJ Atlanta De Cadenet Taylor.
Descended from fashion royalty – Atlanta's mother is photographer Amanda de Cadenet and her father is Duran Duran bassist-slash-co-founder John Taylor – De Cadenet's been heading straight for the limelight since birth, but she smizes and spins with the grace and ease of a style star whose gotten to the top of the fashion game without any help from mom and dad.
Indeed, it's her personal style and unique blend of dance-worthy beats that have earned her attention at international Fashion Weeks, in print features, and at high-profile events like dinner with DVF. Her laid-back West coast-meets-the-LES style is as attention grabbing as her playlists (which you could hear in person at next Wednesday's Brooklyn Artists' Ball After-Party...).
So, we caught up with the lovely Atlanta for an exclusive photoshoot of her favorite spring looks, and to get some hand-me-down fashion tips, some of her favorite current tracks, and the dish on what she'd never be caught dead wearing (hint: jeggings). Click through for four copy-worthy looks from our newest It Girl obsession.
