Band Of Outsiders Takes Us Back To School With Its Fall ’14 Line

No runway, no front row, no hoopla — that’s the name of Band of Outsiders’ fall game. Just models against a stenciled, white backdrop. And, that's just the way we like it. It gives us a chance to zero in on the clothes, and in Scott Sternberg’s case, those are some really great clothes.
Similar to pre-fall (and many collections prior), Band of Outsiders went back to the classroom with a line that felt a bit more Upper East Side prepster than California cool (where the brand originates). This time around, a smattering of boarding-school-esque cardigans, plaid accents, waist-tied sweaters, and reimagined letterman cardigans paired with ankle-skimming, zipped-up lace skirts put this ultra-wearable collection in a class all its own. Of course, if your style is a little more dramatic-glam than schoolgirl-chic, the line also provides us with cool printed dresses paired with luxe leather gloves and plush fur coats adorned with unexpected sporty toggles.
Our favorite takeaway? The overarching sense of whimsy, arriving in the form of scribbled-on poncho fastenings, etched-on skirt decals, and actual wink-like graphics. One thing’s certain: This collection is bound to make it inside our closets come fall. Click on to peep all of the fall ’14 line. And, tell us, which look is your favorite?
