Four years ago, illustrator Danielle Baskin was on a mission. She wanted to inspire cyclists to stop compromising their safety and reach for their bike helmets every time they ride. From there, the rad creative endeavor, Inkwell Helmets, was born.

Baskin set up shop in the East Village and started painting helmets and shipping her original designs all over the world. Her creations are not limited to bike helmets as she also paints motorcycle, ski, and snowboard helmets. Illustrations range from geometric mosaic prints and giant renderings of kiwis and apples to cartographic images of the globe and the solar system. But Baskin's creative possibilities know no bounds as she also enjoys custom painting for individuals and businesses.
