Bo Obama Is Officially The Cutest Holiday Mascot Of All Time

Each year during the holidays, the White House is transformed into an iconic winter wonderland, complete with themed trees, endless strings of twinkling lights, elaborate gingerbread houses, and more. But when First Lady Michelle Obama revealed the 2012 decorations to the public yesterday, it wasn’t the 54 live Christmas trees or the 300-pound gingerbread replica of the White House that stole the show — it was fuzzy First Dog Bo.
Even though the adorable pup spends plenty of time traipsing through the commander-in-chief's digs, the holiday decor boasts dozens of replicas of America’s favorite Portuguese water dog for when he’s not around. The State Dining Room features an oversized model of Bo next to the gingerbread White House — the first lady attributes the model's scale to her pet's “huge personality” — while a life-size doppelganger resides in the East Garden Room.

The best part about this year’s “Joy to All” themed display? You can join in on the fun, too. Each of the more than 90,000 visitors who are expected at the White House during the holidays will be invited on a scavenger hunt for “Bo-ornaments” hidden throughout eight different rooms — cute overload, indeed.
