An R29-Made Lookbook Kicks Brazilian Footwear Up A Notch

While many of us are dealing with passing autumn chills, cold rains, and figuring out where to store our massive air conditioners, the folks down in Rio are still hitting the beach. To further explore this injustice, we're revisiting the photo shoot our New York editor Annie Georgia Greenberg styled while down south.
Playing off of some of the city's most iconic backdrops (including everything from architectural aqueducts to mountainous beaches), models were styled in carioca (or, "with the soul of Rio") ensembles — but a bit punched up. Using kicks from the Brazilian Footwear Association (which reps brands like Melissa, Luisa Barcelos, Havianas, and more), the three-day shoot employed modern, color-blocked, mixed prints, and (of course) laid-back, beachy looks to produce a flip book of styles that may encompass the soul of Rio but that could be sported worldwide.
Click on for a taste of the Brazilian flavor (no, we're not talking all-you-can-eat barbecues), check out the shoes that are on of the country's biggest export, and dream a sunny dream for your last few work hours — we're almost there, guys!
