After decades of iconic Burberry ads featuring the likes of Kate Moss, Emma Watson, Cara Delevingne, and Jourdan Dunn, the idea of fronting a campaign for the English fashion house could be rather intimidating. But, Burberry's newest class of models seem to be holding their own quite well in the Brit brand's latest offering. Its spring '14 ad enlists seven up-and-comers to don the label's classic trench coats and distinct plaid print — and, boy, do they nail it.
Mario Testino shot the images, which Burberry CEO Christopher Bailey describes as having "a gentle, effortless, romantic quality, brought to life by a cast of bright young British talent.” Among the new crop of Burberry It kids are models, actors, and musicians, including Matilda Lowther, who opened the most recent Burberry Prorsum womenswear show, as well as Malaika Firth, Neelam Johal, Callum Ball, and Jean Campbell, who also walked that same runway. Also appearing in the ad are Leo Dobson, who fronts British indie-rock band Childhood, and Jamie Campbell Bower, who starred alongside Lily Collins in The Mortal Instruments. The image above is proof that modeling comes naturally for the multitalented cast, but it's only made us eager for more from the flawless seven. Look out, 2014— here they come.
