Not that we're constantly up on the latest children's movie releases, but we couldn't help but notice that Paddington is officially out, which is just one movie in a long line of beloved children's books that have been turned into a big-screen adaptation. And, to that we ask, Hollywood, can you not?

Sure, there are some successful adaptations — the Harry Potter (2001-11) and The Hunger Games (2012-15) franchises, Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009), and Hugo (2011) — but that's like saying it's easy to find needles in a haystack.
