This New Brand Just Turned Minimalism On Its Head

As an act of defiance against this obnoxiously gray winter, we've been sporting a wide spectrum of hues for the better part of the season. But, now that spring has finally shown its lovely face, perhaps our sartorial color binge is actually wearing on the eyes. After all, why compete with nature's gorgeous shades when we've had neutral pieces waiting to be rocked all this time?
Much to our relief, Cilantro + Ginger has served up the perfect remedy for our rainbow fatigue. Founded earlier this year by Chinese-born designer (and, yes, former R29 staffer) Qingyun Zhang, the menswear brand presents a fall lineup that takes inspiration from NYC's early '90s fashion scene and offers a fresh take on subtle details like pinstripes and polka dots. The understated designs require a second look to fully appreciate these finer points, which adventurous minimalists will surely adore.
