We've been hitting up some of our favorite nocturnal friends for advice on what to wear once the day is done and life really starts. Few would know better how to attack the evening than dance-music darling Audrey Napoleon, sage veteran of L.A.'s hottest clubs and nightlife scenes. For this complicated lady, the rules are simple — black and basic wins every time.

"My ultimate fashion go-to outfit would be a pair of black booties, opaque or matte tights, shorts, a slim-fitting shirt, a structured jacket or coat, a few simple pieces of jewelry, and a small handbag. In this case, I am wearing Marc by Marc Jacobs booties, Donna Karen opaque tights, vintage linen blend shorts, a Topshop thermal shirt, an H&M coat, vintage jewelry, and a Vera Wang handbag.

"The trick for elegant but quick outfits is to keep it simple. If you are ever unsure about having too many accessories on, take a quick walk past a mirror and take off the first thing that pops out. If I am in a hurry, I go with a neutral, monochromatic color palate. 'Less is more.'
"As with my makeup, I follow the same rules: Keep it simple. Foundation, a bit of powder, blush, a stroke of eyeliner, mascara, and lipgloss. Always use the makeup you are most comfortable with and make sure to blend it well! Can't have any foundation lines!
"With these few tips you will have created a very chic look in 10 minutes!"
