Shaft Chic: DKNY Does Up The Quintessential New York Outfit

Despite all the color popping up in the New York streets, the M.O. of Manhattanites is still black-on-black, and DKNY really went back to basics with a mostly dark palette of separates that we think Shaft would have worn if he was a modern girl instead of an ass-kicking stud from the '70s. There were high turtlenecks, lots of slick black leather, and no-bullshit layering that looks sharp as hell while fighting the cold. Of course, the all-black collection was broken up with dark gray, dark navy, and random jewel-tones (all work and no play, as it goes…), and, set against the always-recognizable backdrop of a DKNY-topped cab line, we're remembering why it feels so good to call NYC home.
