The Glam ’60s Look That’s Even Radder Today

As much as we fall back on our graphic '60s cat-eye, sometimes we need to shake things up. Luckily, we found a way to up our makeup game without leaving the decade's beauty gold mine — thanks to an edgy, doe-eyed look inspired by Jean Shrimpton. The supermodel known as The Face never shied away from piling on shadow, but she never looked overdone either — and neither did the models, like the one pictured here, who copied her iconic style at a recent Jean Paul Gaultier runway show. Of course, we want to know their secret!
Rimmel London has all the goods you need to recreate Shrimpton's lash-heavy look — its ScandalEyes Mascara, which pumps lashes up with major volume, is the icing on the mod cake — and we're helping the brand celebrate the '60s with a fresh take on old-school style. Makeup artist Clarissa Luna walked us through each easy step to major eye drama, so all you have to do is follow along.
Once you've got Shrimpton's style down, upload a pic to Twitter and Instagram with #ModMonday. You could score a trip to NYC to see Britain’s hottest boy band, plus a $1,500 shopping spree, hair and makeup, and VIP transportation to the concert. (Click here for details — and don't wait too long! The contest ends April 14.) And, for even more mod, you can check out Rimmel's Modcasts for how-tos on the decade's best beauty and fashion. Now, get ready to go retro.
