To hear some fashion editors tell it, fashion week is a grueling ordeal of back-to-back appointments in too-high heels, fueled only by Champagne and passed appetizers. (Which actually sounds kind of awesome to us.)
But really, exhaustion is but one on the spectrum of emotions you'll experience during fashion week. There's the pure elation you feel when Bill Cunningham snaps your outfit. The crushing defeat of strutting up to check in at a runway show, only to be pointed to standing room. The butterflies you feel when a show is really, truly good. Or, the cackling delight you try (and fail) to hide when something goes really wrong.
To help you navigate this maelstrom of feelings, we offer this guide to the whirlwind of emotions you'll experience during fashion week, newbies and vets alike. Now, when you see another editor walk into the after-party in the exact same outfit, you'll know — we've all been there.
