If you look at any working model’s Instagram account, the glamour of it can be overwhelming: She’s gorgeous, the locations are amazing, the clothes are to die for. But, there’s so much more to her story. And, Faye Dinsmore, a recent signee to Ford models, is here to give us some insight into what it's like to work in the big leagues. The Irish-born beauty is not only diving headfirst into the industry, but she’s hoping to leave a mark. Or, at the very least, a freckle. (But, more on that later.)
Unlike some other models made famous by Ford, like Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell, Dinsmore signed with the agency this year at age 26 — an age considerably higher (in modeling agency terms) than Turlington (20) or Campbell (15) were when they were discovered. But, this is not Dinsmore's first time at the rodeo. She started modeling during her university years in Dublin, and now, several years later, she's making her return. Namely, she's fronting Kevin Abosch's "5117 KM," a large-scale campaign that will debut in January in Paris. The project itself is a study of proximity and intimacy, as the artist explains. In other words, while a plane ticket may be required to get a peek at Faye's work, as a newly signed model in the U.S., that won't be the case for long.
We chatted with the new face about the future of her career, what it's like to live life on the road, and what really happens after you sign with a mega-agency like Ford.
