With a moniker like "Feral Childe," you'd think this Brooklyn label would be all about wild ensembles fit for a bohemian queen. And though they're pretty royal, the wares are actually much more soft spoken — in the best way possible. We're loving the deeply hued dresses and skirts that seem perfectly twisted and stitched for any body type and the mint-colored Shearwater shirt that uses cotton hand-loomed in India.
For fall '13, the design duo (Moriah Carlson and Alice Wu), who have been creating pieces together since 1997, but officially relaunched for fall '12, was inspired by the view of the New York Harbor from their BK studio windows at nighttime. Also perfect for a New York evening? The three-quarter length jumpsuit and crow's-nest vest, which are equal parts structural and comfortable. Yep, this is one misnomer we'll happily embrace.
