One of the major perks of residing in the Bay — despite what naysayers utter — has got to be the weather. Really, we’re not yanking your chain here. Think about it, we don’t have the restraints of seasonal wares, S.F.’s consistent mild temps and quirky micro-climates allow us to experience a sartorial spectrum. When the fall collections roll in, we can appreciate them in all their glory, knowing we don't have to wait until autumn to sport 'em. And the spring collections...well, there are always cardigans! So, when we saw local designer Nikki Garcia of First Rite’s sleek new fall '13 lookbook, we just about hopped out of our chairs with glee.
Quite a departure from her prints-on-prints spring collection, this time Garcia brings it back to the basics with muted-colored frocks and shirts, with lovely little bits of detailing. “For fall I wanted to create a collection that nodded to both menswear and Asian-inspired detailing,” says Garcia. “The collection combines structured pieces made of traditional wool suiting and heavy railroad-stripe cotton against softer-weight silks to create a balance that feels all together feminine and classic.” Take a gander at the intricately designed pieces after the jump!
