Rejoice! Local Shoemaker Freda Salvador Rings In 2013 With A Shop

main
If the last two days are any indication on how big 2013 is slated to be, we’re in for one helluva year, jam-packed with new beginnings. And we can barely contain our enthusiasm after learning that our all-time favorite sole sisters, Megan Papay and Cristina Palomo of Freda Salvador, are opening up a glitzy new space. We're hardly surprised, though, as the well-deserved success of the shoe company seems to be burgeoning off the charts — with stockists at heavy-hitters like Saks Fifth Avenue, Shopbop, and Anthropologie.
The new spot will be nestled on Union Street and will feature about 1,000-square-feet of shiny floor space. Papay and Palomo gave us the scoop, telling us the airy, loft-like location will be filled with many decorated little nooks — with a large area for the design studio, retail, and behind-the-scenes business. What’s more, it will also house a lounge, which will offer shoppers a place to rest, grab java, browse magazines, and more.

“We are so thrilled to combine a retail store with our design space,” the ladies tell us. “Now, in addition to seeing our current collection, customers also can see what we are working on next. They will see the shoe business in its entirety and we feel that transparency is very unique and modern.”
We can’t wait to see the whole shoebang, but in the meantime, ogle at this little Insta snap above, wait with bated breath, and check back for word on the official opening in February.
