Front Street Gallery Delivers An Ode To Vinyl

What happens when Brooklyn band Ninjasonik pairs up with borough-mate creatives, Article? Well, somebody's get pregnant, metaphorically speaking that is. We're talking about the birth of their new single "Somebody Gonna Get Pregnant", recorded on a 12" vinyl record that jump-started a rad new show at the Front Street gallery. To celebrate the collaboration, 62 additional artists and musicians decided to join in on the pro-creation party. With MP3s, the music medium bar-none, the curators decided it was time to revive the first-born child of tunes, vinyl cover-album art. In an ode to a time when vinyl ruled, artists were told to do whatever they wanted to blank white album-covers, and man, that they did. Hop on the F train to Dumbo and feast your eyes on this artistic exhibition, which has developed into a culmination of album art created with everything from Sharpies and needles to Mardi Gras beads and Popsicle sticks.
