Girl Crisis is no ordinary band. Twice a year, a group of Brooklyn’s finest female musicians (and friends) gather together and record a cover song. The group includes Caroline Polacheck (Chairlift), Elizabeth Harper (Class Actress), Ilirjana Alushaj (Apache Beat), Erika Spring (Au Revoir Simone), Linnea Vedder-Shults (Lights), Molly Shea (Acrylics), Jane Herships (Spider), and camera operator Bek Andersen – basically an all-star cast of Refinery29’s favorite female rockstars.
Every season, a new track is filmed on a vintage Super 8mm camera and released only as a video. This summer, they’ve chosen Leonard Cohen’s “Dance Me To The End Of Love,” which, under their direction, becomes a beautiful if vaguely spooky take on original. You can watch it below, and then sit back as you bide your time for the next chapter.
