Certain beauty products — think NARS blush in Orgasm, Clinique's Black Honey lipstick — are so good, they're practically famous. And, while we do love so many of those well-known, well-loved products with a loyal following, we've been wondering why others have been quietly flying under the radar. With that in mind, meet our new beauty series, Cult Classics, in which we'll introduce you to the products you really, truly should know about (and try, like, right now). They're not brand new, but trust us: They've got staying power.
There's pretty much nothing that can compare to the effectiveness of a single oil in your beauty routine, whether that includes smoothing drops of argan on your split ends or patting marula on a dry face. Except, of course, a product that combines all of the good-for-you oils into one. Enter: Goe Oil, a semi-solid combination of 28 different oils and butters derived from plants, fruits, and flowers.

This fast-absorbing, all-natural balm earned itself a permanent spot in our routines upon first use. It's great on sensitive, freshly shaven legs, rough patches, and split ends, and can even be used as a makeup remover. We've been coating ourselves in it from head to toe and have been enjoying skin that's overall softer and more even-toned. A little bit goes a long way — we've been relying on just one tube for months, and haven't even made a dent in it.
As for which oils and butters in particular are in this product, it's a mix of the familiar (avocado, grapeseed, rosehip) and the under the radar (cupuaçu, palmarosa, meadowfoam seed). It has a light, earthy scent that comes from Tahitian monoi oil, and relies on chamomile and calendula to calm irritation while a high percentage of jojoba is used to hydrate and protect.
Goe Oil is particularly great for summer, since the formula is much lighter than a body butter but still takes care of our skin's needs. How did we last so long without it?
Jao Brand Goe Oil, $44, available at Jao Brand.
