10 Iconic Fashion Photos That Redefine “Power Pose”

Herb Ritts was a master of the model-as-living-sculpture approach to photography. And, we shouldn't have to wait for a #tbt to celebrate some of the late fashion photographer’s iconic prints.
With subjects that range from playful, Mickey Mouse-ear-wearing Madonna to that memorable Versace dress that doubles as a tent, the images ahead are a trip down memory lane of some of Ritts' most commanding work of the ’80s and '90s — all in anticipation of an exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, which opens March 14 (this Saturday!). If a weekend trip to New England is out of the question, you can view his most standout prints ahead.
While for some, these duo-chrome photographs may be a first peek at the artist's work, the personalities they feature need no introduction. Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, and practically every other runway-dominating super are part of his repertoire. And, you'll see the photographer's interpretation of how the human body relates to clothing, captured in his larger-than-life way. We can't think of a better way to toast the end of Fashion Month. Click through to see fashion's most memorable power posers.
