Horse+Nail’s Splurge-Worthy Backpack Adds Giddyup To Your Casual Look

After an impressive run at glossies like Cosmopolitan and Seventeen that included styling, editing, and modeling (ahem, slashie!), Jennifer Steele — now a stylist living in NYC — spends her days (and nights) curating the site GIRLS I KNOW. You should check it out, like, yesterday.
Here in NYC, we tend to find ourselves in sort of a bubble — it's pretty, isn't it? In fact, it's so pretty that we occasionally forget how expensive it is to live here, do things here, and just be here. Oh, and don't forget to add to that looking good and loving what you wear. Based on my experience in fashion and making something out of nearly nothing, I've created for you my go-to jeans-and-tee look as an under-$100 outfit that won't completely rip apart your pockets. However, I did add one splurge-worthy suggestion (and it's also my of-the-moment obsession): Horse+Nail's The Rider Backpack. Because, investing in quality pieces you'll wear forever is well worth the hefty price tag — at least, in my opinion.
The bag retails for $875, is 100% leather, and it's handmade in downtown Manhattan by designer Lindsey Hufnagel. Hufnagel loves horses and rock and roll, which is why she integrated them into the stainless-steel eggbut snaffle bit (if you're not a pedigreed equestrian, that's fancy lingo for the silver hardware on the bag) for a handful of classic handbags with a modern twist. Wild! I am obsessed with Hufnagel's creations and attitude toward quality, design, and function. Pair it with my fave cheapie buys for a casual weekend look, for traveling, or even for a movie date night.
