By the time the weekend finally rolls around, it can be hard to motivate for anything beyond a sofa-bound evening. But, if there’s one thing that gets us up and out of the house fast, it’s an art-centric celebration. So, instead of heading down the homebody route and hitting the hay, we’re ready to soak in the splendors of L.A.’s cultural haps this Saturday, at the Silent Pictures opening reception.
The event will showcase 56 works by Moshe and Eddie Brakha that boast vivid, color-dense imagery, while coyly conveying social and political commentary. “I wanted to be the voice that represented what was happening today and tomorrow, but never yesterday,” says Eddie. His hyper-realistic works are definitely a sight to see, so go ahead and prioritize this arty affair a notch above the couch this weekend. Catch Silent Pictures at Known Gallery March 10 through March 16.
When: Saturday, March 10, 6 to 11 p.m.
Where: Known Gallery, 441 North Fairfax Avenue; 310-860-6263.
