Kore Swim’s Lookbook Is What S.F. Summer Dreams Are Made Of

Seeing your friends’ Instagram snaps of beach-riffic play dates and pool parties while you're stuck in chilly S.F. can elicit some bitter envy. But, when those temps spike and we're ready to slip into our swimsuits, we have a well-rounded arsenal ready and vying to be brought out of hiding.
To help us on that front, the bi-Cali brand Kore Swim presents us with a colorful lookbook that somehow manages to delve into our sunny, S.F. surf fantasies while highlighting some eye-catching gear, as well. “San Francisco has a strong surf culture but ironically doesn't boast weather that's conducive to wearing swimwear,” says co-owner Nicole Tracy. “We thought this dilemma, which every true San Franciscan intimately understands, would make for a cool photo shoot concept — an idealized view of San Francisco as a place where girls can wear bikinis on Irving Street before heading out to surf at Ocean Beach. I guess we can dream.”
Yup, you read that right: The lookbook was shot right here in S.F. — around Ocean Beach and Sutro Baths, to be exact — and features boards and apparel from storied surf spot, Mollusk Surf Shop (which now carries Kore Swim). And, the fun doesn't stop there — the mirrored sunnies seen throughout are also from the beloved local brand, Westward Leaning. Shot by photographer (and R29 contrib) Aeschleah DeMartino and styled by Shelley Young, we can't get these oh-so-vibrant images off the brain. Hopefully, some beach days are on the horizon — a girl can dream!
