A New Canadian Sensation? La Fee Verte Creates A RTW Line We Love

Prints, knits, tie dye, leather, fur, sparkle. Sounds like a mouthful, and yet somehow it all comes together swimmingly in one cohesive collection. La Fee Verte (French for "The Green Fairy," for inquiring minds) was launched in 2009 by Canadian designer and up-and-comer in the American market, Adam Sakara. After starting his career with an enchanting intimates line, the designer has now made his foray into RTW. And, boy, are we glad!
In La Fee Verte's fall '12 collection, we see a nod to European urban wear with edge; a perfect balance of heavy and weightlessness, thanks his use of leathers and suede, paired with sheers and flirty fabrics. We can also thank Sakara's Montreal influence for the easy-to-wear French feel of his primarily neutral-toned pieces. Expect the collection to ship out to Nordstrom, Shopbop, and Anthropologies, among others, in July. And, keep your eye on this soon-to-be sensation. You'll be able to say you knew him when.
