Not that we have anything against the practicality of a clutch or the ease of a tote, but sometimes we crave a bag that’s a little more unexpected. Purses shaped like lobsters, crabs, masquerade masks, and diamonds? Well, that would seem to qualify.
Enter S.F.’s newest accessory designer, Larissa Hadjio. The former Londoner and Central Saint Martins grad challenges convention with her playful accessories line, which features creative shapes and soft, supple leather — and, luckily for us, she's now based right here in the Bay and will be relocating her operation here, too.
While she's no stranger to the fashion world (her designs have been featured on the pages of magazines all over the world), Hadjio says her influences come from far and wide. "My inspirations come from anything but fashion," she told us. "A lot of my influences come from art, like my heroes: Swiss artists Fischli and Weiss, and David Attenborough, whose wildlife documentaries I am obsessed with."
Ahead, peep some of our favorite bags from the talented designer (all are available for purchase over at larissahadjio.com), and then get ready to trade in your current carryall for something way more interesting.
