Thanks to Forrest Gump we know there are tons of different types of shrimp (don't worry, we won't start listing them), but out of all the variations, we tasted one recently that reigns supreme: Louisiana shrimp. And while it may be tough to get that Cajun goodness in the Big Apple, this week marks a new effort to bring the so-good seafood up North. Yes, for a limited time, NYC's top chefs are taking on an (unofficial challenge) by cooking Louisiana shrimp their way. Head uptown to Oceana and Fatty Crab, or downtown to spots like Delicatessen, David Burke Kitchen, and the Mermaid Inn, where specials featuring the crustaceans are cooked and served to order. But don't sweat it if you can't get reservations at these select places: There are a total of 22 (yes 22!) restos participating in Louisiana shrimp week, meaning you can scoop up the goodness no matter where you may be dining. Check out all the locations and whet your appetite...at....now, and click through to see five of the dishes mastered to perfection.
