No, those aren’t neon spider webs in a swanky tropical setting. They’re just your friendly neighborhood lifeguard stands! And just when you thought they couldn’t get any bolder, brighter, or wackier, local photoarchitect Luis Arturo Mora takes them totally out of context, transforming them into uber-psychadelic artworks (iPhone background, anyone?).
Think Art Deco meets abstract in an explosion of colors and hues so jarring it would cause most viewers to question their sobriety. Cleverly titled “No Lifeguard on Duty,” Moro felt the need to capture those crazy hours when there’s no eye candy on deck to keep swimmers at bay (from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 a.m.) on SoBe’s sandy shore. Call it what you will, but we’re christening this one “South Beach on Acid.” Any hot lifeguard want to take a trip with us? (Curbed)
