New TV Crush: Meet The Jewish Don Draper

Starz has picked up
Magic City
for a second season before the first one has even aired, which means the sex, money, and drama of Miami must be making critics and Starz suits happy. And this makes us happy too, because Jeffrey Dean Morgan can rock a suit and tie like its 1959. Morgan, whom some of you may remember as Denny Duquette on Grey’s Anatomy, plays Ike Evans, owner of the fictional Miramar Playa Hotel.

Ike is sort of like Don Draper, only if Draper was a Miami hotel mogul, tan, and a little more Jewish. While both shows are set in the '50s, Morgan mentions in his interview with Women's Wear Daily that “New York and Miami Beach were two very different beasts.” And we most certainly agree. Hopefully the new show will do to beachwear what the AMC series did for offices.
