Market Scout: Art Appreciation With AYR

As a girl who considers skinny jeans a top wardrobe essential, my interests were obviously piqued as soon as I got wind of AYR. And, upon viewing the new denim line from former J.Crew/Madewell duo Maggie Winter and Jacqueline Cameron in person for the first time, it's safe to say my expectations were met — no, exceeded. It's a collection chock-full of easy (read: staples that are both packable and a breeze to clean) separates in the finest of materials and, of course, all the amazing denim I expected, with the most perfect jean jacket, to boot.

What I was pleasantly surprised to find was the selection of printed T-shirts and abstract, striped button-downs that are part of AYR's "Artist in Residence" program. Produced in collaboration with Brooklyn-based artist Martin Davis, these colorful little numbers are limited-edition goodness at its finest. A smart move for a company bound to be your next denim destination — after all, nothing goes better with a pair of jeans than a unique tee or breezy oxford.
