Exclusive First Look: Moda Operandi’s Newest Ad Campaign Is Here!

Want to know a dirty little secret? Designers may send 50 pieces down the runway at Lincoln Center, but you'll only see a fraction of it funneled into a store's stock (and they'll only be items selected for their guaranteed return on investment mainstream appeal). Being the all-things-unusual dressers we are, our devotion to Moda Operandi's unedited collections and designer-to-consumer focus already runs deep. Now, with M'O's new ad campaign, we're at our knees with that lovin' feelin'.
Moda tapped some big guns for this one: In-house artistic director Taylor Tomasi Hill was on set to bring her incomparable sense of style, and Swedish stunner Caroline Winberg threw in her staggeringly good looks. The resulting images are bright, upbeat, and oh so very Moda. We've got the R29 first look at the ads, so you can see them before they hit the press.
And, to give you double your fun, we're also offering a peek at one of the brand's side projects. They're offering a separate sale of a small selection of extremely rare, extremely mysterious, extremely gorgeous Edward Steichen photographs, culled from the dust of Vogue and Vanity Fair's archives in an on site-exclusive trunkshow. In a mixture of fashion photographs and pictures of pre-war intelligentsia (hello, Fred Astaire; nice to see you, Amelia Earhart) curated by Vogue's director of photography, Ivan Shaw, the high drama, high contrast portraiture —which has won Steichen a devoted following — is thoroughly represented. Click through to check out the goods, and you'll see why we're twice as nice.
