On The Streets Of L.A. With Awkward Black Girl‘s Issa Rae

Hollywood can feel like an exclusive scene to those on the outside, a world where film and television's elite hide from the paparazzi at the Chateau Marmont while comparing their golden statuettes (or so we like to imagine). But, the rising starlets we've got our eyes on are more down-to-earth, more likely to sip a beer and discuss Scandal with us than indulge in regular Champagne toasts.
That's why we're spotlighting L.A. through their eyes. We've affectionally dubbed one of our favorite new stars Issa Rae the next Lena Dunham. In addition to creating, writing, and producing The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl, Rae is also the star of the YouTube series. And, when she's not doing that, she's working on a new comedy for HBO, publishing her first book with Simon & Schuster, and getting ready to play Nina Simone in a new biopic. All the while ABG, which recently hit 20 million views, just keeps spreading.
Since we look to Neiman Marcus to spotlight up-and-comers in the fashion world — as well as the latest styles from our favorite designers — we teamed up with the store to show off Rae's quirky style at some of L.A.'s coolest spots. Come along for the ride...
