We all have those people in our lives who we lovingly (or otherwise) refer to as “neurotic.”
But, what does that really mean? Although many use the word to describe someone who is particular about things or perhaps just tightly wound, “neurotic” is actually a clinical term. Apparently, people with neuroticism are characterized by a tendency to “respond with negative emotions to threat, frustration, or loss.”
By that definition, of course, all of us are probably pretty neurotic.
